Facilities at Awakeri Hot Springs
Enjoy quality holiday park facilities at Awakeri Hot Springs. From our BBQ area, to the adventure playground, our Whakatane accommodation is the perfect location for your family holiday in the Bay of Plenty. Don’t forget, we are also home to one of the most peaceful hot pools in the Bay of Plenty!

Awakeri Holiday Park Kitchen
Our communal kitchen is modern, clean and centrally located within our Whakatane holiday park. Enjoy access to fridges, freezers, microwaves, hot plates and ovens in the kitchen. There are also toasters for your use and continual boiling water.
BBQ Area
Families love our spacious barbeque area, which has been recently upgraded to include 3 electric barbeques (which operate on a $1 coin for 15 minutes) and a number of large picnic tables. Each individual barbeque is covered with a shade sail and nestled within pretty garden surrounds. There is a sheltered area for wet days, or for large groups.
Awakeri Holiday Park Laundries
Our Awakeri holiday park’s main laundry is centrally located and has washing machines which operate on a $2 coin (per cycle). Washing powder is available from our Camp Shop. This laundry also houses sinks and commercial dryers ($1 per dryer cycle). A second laundry with washing machines and sinks is also available onsite. An iron and ironing board are available from the office on request and we have a number of large washing lines throughout Awakeri holiday park.
Ablutions
Our main ablutions block contains toilets and showers (with wheelchair access) and is located centrally in the camping area within our Awakeri holiday park. Hot showers are free of charge.
Additional ablutions include a block of toilets by our Tourist Cabins, one block of showers / toilets on the far side of the camp, and toilets in the hot pool area.
Games and Sports
We have an abundance of space here at our Whakatane accommodation, and kids love joining together with fellow holidaymakers for a game of cricket, tennis or volleyball on our outdoor courts. Tennis racquets, badminton racquets, cricket equipment and other sports gear is available from the office – just ask!
Awakeri Hot Springs Camp Shop
Our Camp Shop is open from 8.00am to 9.30pm, 364 days of the year (closed only on Christmas day) and is stocked with hot pies, chippies, cold drinks, ice creams, lollies and other grocery items such as bread and milk.
Playground
The little ones will enjoy tiring themselves out on the slides and jungle gyms on our playground! There is also a children’s pool within the Awakeri Hot Springs’ hot pools area.
